Discussion questions

Why is does Redish's name include a nickname in parenthesis? According to her guidelines, we should eliminate unnecessary words. Yet when a student wants to refer to the author of this book by her full name, rather than just surname, we have to make a decision about whether to use Janice, Ginny, or both, which looks overly formal. Either her name is Janice and her friends call her Ginny, in which case the nickname doesn't need to by included here, or her birth certificate says Janice and everyone knows her as Ginny, in which case we don't need the Janice part.
